Dr Alisdair Wallace - Principal Dentist, BDS (Edinburgh)
Ali grew up in Scotland, graduating from Edinburgh University’s dental school and completing his post-graduate training there in 1995. With a West Australian mother it was no surprise that he ended up in Perth, migrating here in 2003 shortly after marrying.
Ali is passionate about providing practical dental care for his patients. He prides himself on his pragmatism and empathy towards his valued patients.
Ali has an active family life with a wife and two energetic sons. They share his enthusiasm for sport and the outdoor lifestyle. He is a regular golfer and tennis player and is a former captain of the West Australian Dentist Golf Association. He also has a love of music, playing drums and keyboards in various bands.
Ali is unavailable on the online booking system, appointments with him can be made via reception.
Selina - Practice Manager
Selina joined Dr Wallace’s practice, initially working Saturdays. She had been a full time mum for a few years and felt it was time to return to the workplace. She joined as full time practice manager in 2012 and has been running the practice ever since.
Selina strives to run the practice smoothly and efficiently and to help patients meet their needs. She has the ability to reassure nervous patients and calm their pre-appointment nerves!
Selina lives south of the river with her husband, 2 sons and 2 dogs. She enjoys caravanning weekends, fishing and reading a good book.
Ka - Dental Assistant
My name is Ka, I have been a dental assistant for the majority of my working life both here and in Hong Kong.
Having this type of experience allows me to facilitate communication requirements with our patients in English and also three different dialects of the Chinese language.
Dr Kathryn Handicott - Dentist
Kathryn was born and raised in the UK, graduating from Cardiff Dental School in 2011 with first class honours. After a few years working in the NHS, she and her husband came to Perth on holiday and have never looked back - it's been 9 years in WA private practice since.
Kathryn is passionate about educating her patients about their oral health and working together to achieve common goals. She particularly enjoys treating children. Kathryn prides herself on her ability to communicate with all patients, providing treatment to a high standard whilst building a lasting relationship based on trust and transparency.
Away from teeth, Kathryn is sport-mad and chose the purple side of town on arrival in Perth. She has played cricket to a high standard but now focuses her time on her husband, toddler daughter and dog, enjoying the great weather and lifestyle that Perth offers.
Amanda Lau - Dentist
Amanda graduated from the University of Western Australia with honours in 2009, winning numerous prizes as a student. She also completed a research honours degree, focussing on composite restorations (white fillings). After graduating, Amanda moved to Albany, to help ease the shortage of dentists in country areas. She thoroughly enjoyed living and working there for 10 years.
Amanda enjoys all aspects of dentistry. She is passionate about building long-term relationships with people, helping them to achieve good oral health through preventive care and education. One of the greatest joys of her work is to help people overcome their dental anxieties. Amanda aims to create a calm atmosphere for her patients, and is trained in using nitrous oxide (happy gas). Amanda regularly attends professional development courses to ensure that her knowledge and practices are consistent with the highest of standards. She is a member of the Australian Dental Association.
Amanda strongly believes in helping the underprivileged and vulnerable in society. She has previously travelled to Vietnam as a volunteer dentist with Christian Health Aid Team to provide dental treatment at orphanages. Amanda also regularly volunteers at St Patrick’s Community Support Centre as a dentist, providing free dental treatment for people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage.
Outside of work, Amanda is a cellist in the Fremantle Symphony Orchestra, plays soccer, and enjoys being outside – fishing, hiking/bushwalking and camping.
